Jack’s Point plans for luxury lodge

Luxury Lodge a Diamond in the RoughJack’s Point has been working with various parties over the last few years in order to bring about the development of the intended Lodge on the northern side of the actual piece of land called Jack’s Point…In collaboration with talented internationally acclaimed New Zealand architects Fearon Hay and local landscaping architects Darby Partners, a private investment group with a significant real estate history in the accommodation sector has developed a lodge concept that we believe will challenge the most sought after resorts in the world for ultimate mountain retreat status.The concept is a very site-specific design resulting in an intentional under-utilisation of the development capacity available for the site. In ensuring that the proposed concept embraced the Jack’s Point vision, the Jack’s Point Design Review Board (DRB) has worked with the investment group as they developed the concept and have now granted their approval for the overall concept. As a condition of that approval the DRB will undertake ongoing peer reviews during the development process to ensure the intended outcome is delivered. While the name of the intended operator remains confidential, management of the Jack’s Point Lodge would be the first time an internationally recognised ‘luxury operator’ has set foot in New Zealand so that is very exciting for Jack’s Point.

Although the outlook for the next couple of years is that it will be a slow turnaround of the economic climate it is rewarding and comforting for Jack’s Point as a community that an international investor group and an international operator are both prepared to embark upon the process that will see them in turn make a sizeable investment at Jack’s Point.

We are certain that not only Jack’s Point but also Queenstown will place an incredible amount of value on this project as it advances over the next couple of years.
