New Zealand’s Millbrook Golf Resort wins at 2011 World Travel Awards

Folks at Millbrook are proud to report that their golf resort has been voted tops in Australasia and New Zealand at the 2011 World Travel Awards. One of the most scenic golf courses in the world, Millbrook is simply an unforgettable Queenstown golfing experience. With extraordinary photo opportunities at every turn (view picture above in heading) their championship course offers three fabulous nine hole courses, each named after local prominent Queenstown landmarks: The Remarkables, The Arrow and The Coronet Nine.

Millbrook Resort offers world-class golf facilities and services. Personally we can vouch for the top-notch cafe and dining facilities at this welcoming resort whether or not you stop by for a game or just take in the engaging scenery.

A bit of history: The land on which Millbrook now calls home was first discovered by Maori and much later by Europeans, lured to the region by tales of a gold rush. In the 1860s, it was the French brothers John and Peter Butel from Normandy who established a 450 acre wheat farm to feed hungry miners. The rustic remains of the farm live on in Millbrook’s restored buildings and The Avenue of trees that still welcomes visitors just as it did 150 years ago.
